Lesson 18 - It is the foolish ones who see the doer as one's own Self.

Chapter 18 - The endeavor for Liberation - Slokas - 15, 16, 17.
शरीरवाङ्मनोभिर्यत्कर्म प्रारभते नरः ।
न्याय्यं वा विपरीतं वा पञ्चैते तस्य हेतवः ॥ १८-१५॥
तत्रैवं सति कर्तारमात्मानं केवलं तु यः ।
पश्यत्यकृतबुद्धित्वान्न स पश्यति दुर्मतिः ॥ १८-१६॥
यस्य नाहङ्कृतो भावो बुद्धिर्यस्य न लिप्यते ।
हत्वाऽपि स इमाँल्लोकान्न हन्ति न निबध्यते ॥ १८-१७॥
shareeravaangmanobhiryatkarma praarabhate narah’ ।
nyaayyam vaa vipareetam vaa panchaite tasya hetavah’ ॥ 18-15 ॥
tatraivam sati kartaaramaatmaanam kevalam tu yah’ ।
pashyatyakri’tabuddhitvaanna sa pashyati durmatih’ ॥ 18-16 ॥
yasya naahankri’to bhaavo buddhiryasya na lipyate ।
hatvaa’pi sa imaam’llokaanna hanti na nibadhyate ॥ 18-17 ॥
Whaterver action a human commences using his/her body, speech and mind, be it proper or perverse, these five factors happen to be it's means.
In fact, there, one who sees that the doer as verily one's own Self, such foolish one does not see the Self due to ignorance.
The one whose puport is ' I am not the doer' ; also whose intellect is not besmeared, even if having been killed in this world is not destroyed as well as not bound.
We associate ourselves with our actions. And the associated us face the disappointment. This never ending association is the ego. The ego can be defined as the factor which creates the mental state of I am this particular individual with all the traits, habits, possessions and conditioning. - Kokil
