Chapter 18 -   The endeavor for Liberation - Slokas - 5, 6.

yajnyadaanatapah’karma na tyaajyam kaaryameva tat ।
yajnyo daanam tapashchaiva paavanaani maneeshinaam ॥ 18-5 ॥

etaanyapi tu karmaani sangam tyaktvaa phalaani cha ।
kartavyaaneeti me paartha nishchitam matamuttamam ॥ 18-6 ॥

The offerings, charity and austerities are purifiers for the wise ones therefore the actions pertaining to offering, charity, and austerities are for sure not to be given up.

Although they are also actions, the best way to perform them, in My opinion is that they must be performed as 'duty' without attachment and not expecting any result.

“Selfless giving unto others represents one's true wealth. Give without remembering, and receive without forgetting. Give back in some way.” ― Germany Kent
