Chapter 18 -   The endeavor for Liberation - Slokas - 12, 13, 14.


अनिष्टमिष्टं मिश्रं च त्रिविधं कर्मणः फलम् ।
भवत्यत्यागिनां प्रेत्य न तु संन्यासिनां क्वचित् ॥ १८-१२॥

पञ्चैतानि महाबाहो कारणानि निबोध मे ।
साङ्ख्ये कृतान्ते प्रोक्तानि सिद्धये सर्वकर्मणाम् ॥ १८-१३॥

अधिष्ठानं तथा कर्ता करणं च पृथग्विधम् ।
विविधाश्च पृथक्चेष्टा दैवं चैवात्र पञ्चमम् ॥ १८-१४॥

anisht’amisht’am mishram cha trividham karmanah’ phalam ।
bhavatyatyaaginaam pretya na tu samnyaasinaam kvachit ॥ 18-12 ॥

panchaitaani mahaabaaho kaaranaani nibodha me ।
saankhye kri’taante proktaani siddhaye sarvakarmanaam ॥ 18-13 ॥

adhisht’haanam tathaa kartaa karanam cha pri’thagvidham ।
vividhaashcha pri’thakchesht’aa daivam chaivaatra panchamam ॥ 18-14 ॥

For those who would not renounce, three types of fruits of actions namely unpleasant, pleasant and mixture of pleasant and unpleasant get accrued for later, after death, but for the ones endeavoring, none.

As far as I know, Hey strong armed one!, there are five means that are logically and conclusively stated to end in accomplishment of all actions.

The physical body and accordingly the performer and the organs for performing with all their variations, the different kinds of activities and destiny are those five means.

 You must look at the action and that makes action important. But action is important only because it will lead you to the actor. Otherwise, action by itself holds little value. - Acharya Prashant
