Lession 18 - Not many among the human beings do, that which pleases Me.

Chapter 18 -  The endeavor for Liberation - Slokas - 69, 70.


न च तस्मान्मनुष्येषु कश्चिन्मे प्रियकृत्तमः ।
भविता न च मे तस्मादन्यः प्रियतरो भुवि ॥ १८-६९॥

अध्येष्यते च य इमं धर्म्यं संवादमावयोः ।
ज्ञानयज्ञेन तेनाहमिष्टः स्यामिति मे मतिः ॥ १८-७०॥

na cha tasmaanmanushyeshu kashchinme priyakri’ttamah’ ।
bhavitaa na cha me tasmaadanyah’ priyataro bhuvi ॥ 18-69 ॥

adhyeshyate cha ya imam dharmyam samvaadamaavayoh’ ।
nyaanayajnyena tenaahamisht’ah’ syaamiti me matih’ ॥ 18-70 ॥

From those among human beings there is not many who do, that which pleases Me, therefore all those others on earth are not dearer to Me.

But, in My opinion, those who. studies this conversation between us on rightousness, by offering this unto the fire of intellect, is perhaps dear to Me.

Lesson 18 - In My opinion, offering, charity and austerity must be performed as 'Duty'

    Image courtesy:https://in.pinterest.com/pin/382665299562190623/ Chapter 18 -   The endeavor for Liberation - Slokas - 5, 6. यज्ञदानतपःकर्म न त्याज्यं कार्यमेव तत् । यज्ञो दानं तपश्चैव पावनानि मनीषिणाम् ॥ १८-५॥ एतान्यपि तु कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा फलानि च । कर्तव्यानीति मे पार्थ निश्चितं मतमुत्तमम् ॥ १८-६॥ yajnyadaanatapah’karma na tyaajyam kaaryameva tat । yajnyo daanam tapashchaiva paavanaani maneeshinaam ॥ 18-5 ॥ etaanyapi tu karmaani sangam tyaktvaa phalaani cha । kartavyaaneeti me paartha nishchitam matamuttamam ॥ 18-6 ॥ The offerings, charity and austerities are purifiers for the wise ones therefore the actions pertaining to offering, charity, and austerities are for sure not to be given up.
